Consisting of two sections, totalling over 55 km, the Val Seriana cycle path is ideal for an easy outing for the whole family, skirting the banks of the river Serio.
The Val Seriana cycle path comprises two sections: the first, the main branch, links Ranica to Clusone (31.5 kilometres), following the course of the river Serio. Up to Albino, this first section is accompanied by a parallel track that starts at Villa di Serio and intersects with the main cycle path at several points.
The second section runs between Clusone and Valbondione for a distance of approximately 24 kilometres. In addition, to make the available routes more extensive and practical, work has been performed in recent years to connect Clusone to Castione della Presolana with a cycle path that runs through the municipalities of Rovetta, Songavazzo and Onore.
The absence of major differences in height and the rideability of the track, on beaten earth or asphalt, make the Val Seriana cycle track particularly suitable for families.
The only significant climb on the first branch of the track is at Ponte Nossa, when you have to pedal uphill from the valley floor to the higher ground of Clusone and the Presolana basin.
The second section of the cycle track, on the other hand, is more challenging and reaches a maximum altitude of almost 900 metres. Nevertheless, it offers beautiful mountain views and runs through typical villages with stone walls and slate roofs.
